Today's millennials are so busy in academic works that they even focus on it TOO much which sooner or later will become their regret for not being YOUNG.
That will probably be their biggest regret.

My message for the current teachers:

It's okay to give a few homeworks, outputs, projects, assignments and all but please don't forget that being young, for a fact, is never ever going back to happen.
You may think that you're letting them be ready practically for life but the truth is, you're actually not letting them LIVE.
Students, most of which I've heard, think that they're in school as if they're already working but without pay.
Let's face it. Paperworks bore you as well.
So why not have an authentic assessment where most of the activities are performance-based?
In that way, students can be more creative and probably even have fun!
Hopefully we can agree on one thing.
Students learn more efficiently and effectively if they're having fun.

Traditional assessment? Why still use that kind of assessment?
It is, for a fact, useful in some areas on assessing your students but the truth is, from the title itself or the name itself, "Traditional" already sounds like it is delaying "Progress".
Students go to school MOSTLY to LEARN and not to WORK as if they're dragging themselves in a payless office job.
That's why as a future educator, I, for one, will surely be an advocate someday of a "Learning is Fun" advocacy.

You should at least look at it this way.
They have their own lives and being in school is only a part of their short lives.
Why don't we let them learn and at the same time, let them enjoy their youth?
After they graduate in school, they're just practically working to survive while waiting to die anyway.
And that is even true to all!

I hope you get my point and open your eyes instead of being angry or having any negative thoughts from what I've said.
