I was taking a shower the other night and found this on my skin and it hurtA9F3FB2D-A5BD-4821-9344-88E15AC1AC6E.jpeg
I thought it was a mole that got sore than I saw I picked up a tick. I was checking the fence at work to make sure no one broke in. Who ever picked up a tick in February?

Does anyone think I should go to the doctor?

I know they say to save the tick, but not sure if they test it for Lyme. If you do have Lyme disease it is a series of antibiotics and a long road to recovery. I would probably start checking holistic ideas online.

Oh crap I flushed it.

I believe they would take blood work from you before they test the tick. Obviously, if you start to have symptoms that are not normal you would likely know why now.

Yes, go to a doctor.

I have had a close relative deal with the debilitating side of things, when a doctor missed all the signs and misdiagnosed her.

I have had the classic bullseye rash one time from a tick bite, and I, too, flushed the tick, but should have saved it because that is the only way to be 100% sure from the get-go whether the tick had lyme or other diseases.

They will at first refuse to admit that it is anything related to lyme disease, especially because the rash will likely be gone by the time you get to them.

Do your own research and read people's stories about when they ignored the rash, and that is probably enough to convince anyone to find a doctor to prescribe good antibiotics.

You'll want something strong, that you take for about 10-14 days. The meds I took made my skin feel like it was slightly on fire whenever I went out into the sun for the last week I was on the meds, but I definitely am glad I went and got them, because I wasn't going to at first, but several friends insisted.

I've done a load of research on this; feel free to ask me questions if you want, and I'll point you to some good resources.

For what it's worth, it looks like your tick is not the kind which typically carries lyme disease, but it is known to carry several other debilitating, long-term diseases.

They say if you get the tick off within the first 24 - 48 hours, that's generally too short of a time to transfer disease, but since you have/had the typical rash, I would definitely recommend talking with a sympathetic doctor.
