Inspirational Series #2: Three questions to create history
Dearest Darling Friends,
A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for vehicles to come around. As soon as one came, he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it.
One day a neighbor asked the farmer "Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?" The farmer replied, "That is not what bothers me. What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one."
I laughed aloud when I read this story. I sobered when I realised, many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing meaningless goals.
So, what does success mean to you? What do you want from success? Will it be worth it all?
The above three questions are life defining questions. The answers, will give you all the clarity you need, for the biggest questions you have in life.
This is what it meant for Sir Ernest Shackleton and his record creating sailors. He needed people for an extra-ordinary expedition. What he wanted to do, had never been accomplished ever, be any one. He wanted to go on a 'historical' expedition.
In his ad seeking sailors for the trans Antarctica expedition, the ad read, ‘Men wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages. Bitter cold. Long months of complete darkness. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success.’
People who showed up were the right guys to be on the expedition. They had the answers to all the three questions above. They went on to create 'history'.
And this is how he met his end...
Angina pectoris is a chest pain due to coronary heart disease.
He met his end doing what he loved to do best... searching and exploring..!!!!!
Assuring all my darlings here, i will always strive to create history. Praying, you too create history.
Do take a little time and answer the three questions above for your historical life.
With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,
Prachi
