Wished Away Life
There was once a man
From the old age clan.
He wished away his life so fast
It barely really lasted.
When he was young,
He wanted to be older.
He eventually became bolder
And his life became colder.
He barely enjoyed his wife
And their great married life.
He looked past his children,
Even though they were his only gilding.
Time flew, life drew.
His children grew to become their own crew.
He realised too late
That it was the end of the debate.
Now he is feeling sorrow,
Knowing his death can come tomorrow.
His life was mostly wasted,
Not at all pasted.
He told himself:
It's time to make peace
With your life Maurice,
As he glanced at his life's bookshelf.
