Why we Suffer and why we need to Suffer?
Why we Suffer and why we need to Suffer?
It is something innate in reality that we all experience suffering. According to Buddha; “Life is full of suffering” and we suffer because of a reason, it might be because of ourselves or it is because of the other outside our self. Suffering is an unescapable reality and even a simple problem, sadness, despair and the feeling of being unloved and alone is some but few instances of suffering. Often it hinders us to enjoy the beauty of our life because we cannot escape the curse of suffering.
There is suffering because there is a cause of suffering and the reason why suffering is an unescapable reality because it co-exist among us; because suffering is in ourselves and caused by the other. It exists because we exist and the other exist. The other is the society, the people whom we know, the one we want to know and the other that we do not know. They affect our life and the life of other; it moves each of our life in a way that is something unknown to us.
The suffering caused by our own self
We cause suffering to our self because of our selfish desires to have more. We often set too much standards on how we live and on how we should not live. If we cannot achieve those standard, then it will become our suffering. A simple selfish desire to gain more wealth and success may cause us suffering if we cannot achieve them. This is a kind of suffering of our unending desires and wants. We wanted to achieve them without considering the need of the other person and in turn we have nothing to turn back if we cannot achieve them; this time this kind of suffering is cause by being unloved and cared. We forget the other and just focus on our own desire and wants. Those suffering is just but a few examples on how we suffer because of our own demands and standards.
Success cannot be measured on how much money and wealth we have earn but it is on how happy we are upon achieving them. On how we become happy despites of the suffering in life. Success can only be measured on how we have lived our life out of the suffering and finding ways for us to be happy.
The suffering caused by the other
We might not be aware of it but we affect each of our life. That my action will determine the course of my life and the course of the other’s life. The action that we might be doing might cause suffering to other and the other’s action might also cause us to suffer. Thus each of our action affects each and everybody’s life. Every time we see people suffer and die that might be because of us. It might be hard for us to believe that the cause of others suffering is based on how lived and on how we have done wrong. On how we have lived our life and on how we response to the suffering that we have. Thus the cause of every suffering starts within our own selves that spreads and affects other’s life.
Thus suffering is unescapable and it is part of reality. This kind of reality is a chain of life that does not have an escape but have a way for us to accept and be keen with suffering and live our life as a response to suffering.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance with the rain
Suffering is unescapable reality and there is no need for us to escape but just to enjoy the pain of suffering. It is like learning to dance with the rain because we do not need to wait for the storm to cease. We need to little by little learn to accept the pain of our life and live as if we life out of a happy life. We need to accept that suffering has a reason and that reason is for us to be strong. That life is not just a game to the rich, a joke to the fool and a struggle to the poor. We must learn to know that it doesn’t not matter wither we are rich, fool or poor rather we must know that each person has a different kind of suffering depending on how he lived his life and on the status of his life. There is no such thing as a universal suffering for suffering is vast and it has a different color and each color will depend on the person’s life.
