 A woman lays dagaa (a type of sardine) on drying racks along the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Here in Tanzania, The Nature Conservancy is collaborating with Pathfinder International on the Tuungane Project, an initiative to help protect the Greater Mahale Ecosystem and to improve the quality of life of the people who live there. As part of this project, communities manage their own freshwater resources and that includes enforcing sustainable fishing, which helps to prevent overfishing and ensures a food source for the residents who depend on it—photo by @parmjit
