Autism is another disorder related to lifestyle...
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by having repetitive behaviors, no eye contact, and no social communication. it is diagnosed after 2 years old, and incidence in boys have 5 times greater than girls. unfortunately, there is no molecular detection procedure for diagnosis and just diagnosed by clinical methods. Let's go back to the lifestyle. When a woman who wants to be pregnant, she must pay attention to many things including eating style, no smoking, no drinking. And also she should not have a socio-economic problem as far as possible. when a mother who experience stress during pregnancy, his/her baby will probably age faster than peers and have a higher risk of neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
As mentioned in previous articles, telomeres at the end of linear chromosomes get shorter with each cell division and worsened under the physiological, and psychosocial stress. When the pregnant mother is stressed for reasons of unsatisfactory lifestyle. The genetic material of her cells is changing. Telomeres are one of the most sensitive areas for change. under the stressful events, the shortening of the telomeres intensifies and the mother uses these cells with short telomeres to form the egg cell. As a result, the baby born will has short telomeres. A baby born with short telomeres is susceptible to many diseases, including autism.
