Another shooting: Youtube HQ
What the hell is happening?
Another shooting unfolded only hours ago at the Youtube HQ in San Bruno, California. This one, however, was executed by a woman and the carnage reflects it.Only three Youtube employees where injured during the shooting: a 36-year-old man in critical condition; a 32-year-old female in serious condition, and a 27-year-old woman in fair condition. The Woman who instrumented the shooting has yet to be identified and her motive isn't clear, but it is known that the woman knew atleast two of the victims involved. Authorities found her dead on the campus from a self-inflected gun shot wound.
Now I'm not going to make assumptions about this woman's motivation but when women "loose it", their motivation for doing so is usually more personal and the fact that she knew two of the victims reflects this trend. After all, Women are much more caring and empathetic as compared to Men and the odds of them going on a rampage killing random people becuase of some twisted angst they have toward the world is very unlikely. Needless to say, Women are much more sensible and less abrasive than Men so I can't imagine what this particular woman was going through to push her into the ranks of a suicide shooter.
Her motives don't matter, though. Shootings happen every day...they are nothing new. What is new is shootings where the targets are random people and shootings where the shooter commits suicide. Both these acts of violence stem from a series of thoughts that reach a boiling point....a point where the mind sees no other way to solve a problem that it has allowed to engulf it. These tradigies are also always pre-meditated which means that these acts were not brash mistakes that happened on a whim. These tradigies are the pinnacle of a long painful thought process that can only be stopped by counceling, therapy, or a therapuetic experience that breaks that vicious malicious cycle of thinking.
This is probably my last post about this country's shooter problem because there is only so much one can say about a problem thats not being addressed.
