Forbidden Places on Earth That Cannot be Visited by Tourist pt II
3. Ilha da Queimada Grande
Cause it has thousands of deadly snakes occupants
Ilha da Queimada Grande, located 35 km from the coast of Brazil, at first glance looks like a paradise. However, you may pay for a trip to this island with your life. Why? Because the island with an area of 0.43 square kilometers, has an estimated population of about 4 thousand snakes.
The most dangerous species of snakes on the island is Bothrops insularis, or snake lancehead gold. These snakes have venom five times stronger than other venomous snakes and when they bite will cause instant death. That is why the Brazilian government forbids anyone visiting Ilha da Queimada Grande, also called Snake Island.
4. Gruinard Island
Cause travel ban: a biological weapon test
In 1942, the British government bought Gruinard island in Scotland to test biological weapons, especially anthrax. During the experiment, it was found that the anthrax had been polluting the region for a long period of time, causing the deaths of those in 95% of cases.
Until the 1980s, the island of Gruinard is one of the deadliest places on the planet. In 1986 scientists finally started 'cleaning' of this island until declared safe in 1990. However, there is no man who settled there. Experts warn that the anthrax spores remain in the soil of the island of Gruinard, which means that the island would not be fit to live for hundreds of years.
