RE: A Respectful Thank You

in #life4 years ago

Much of the Steem community, including investment, infrastructure, skilled developers, talented content creators; they moved to Hive. Steem now censors content, and not with downvotes. They wipe blogs completely in some cases. There's one boss, and you're not allowed to have a problem with how things are running on this platform now, and if you do, they'll remove your content. In some extreme cases now, they have frozen funds. Hive is what you'd be familiar with if you haven't been on Steem for awhile. Steem was basically bought and hijacked. Half of the top witnesses aren't even real people. Even the witnesses lose their spot if they'd don't comply on Steem now. Most of the curation efforts moved over to Hive. Steem is just a shell of what it once was. It'll get worse too since those at the top are currently on power trip that involves revenge. Steem caters more to those who find tricks to get rewards out of the pool now. A lot of shady people are left here acting like saviors. Manipulating naive members into thinking there's actually a future.

Thank you so much for detailed explanation :S Pretty messed up. Was gone a while, but not THAt long.

I actually made a hive account, a big thanks to your post! After seeing your post I checked discord and got more help and info.
I'm certainly thankful that all of my posts are safely backed up on Hive, since I put so much time into them. I cashed out all Steem as well, I guess I was lucky I powered down earlier :)

Thank you for info! Cheers

I'd consider Hive to be in the rebuilding phase and Steem in the falling apart phase. Neither is perfect but I too am grateful my work had been backed up and placed on a chain that seems to have a bright future ahead, provided people don't piss on the potential there as well. Sometimes I regret not selling what I had earned here, but I was going for the long term future vision. Things don't always work out but since Hive airdropped tokens 1:1, I feel all was not lost.
