Tear Off That Resolution! Blunt Truth Why New Year Resolutions Don't Work...
The only reason your new year resolution sits idle in the shelf of your diary or gather dust on the cover of the notebook you fancied to pen it down is because, it is the same you; and you have not really made a commitment to CHANGE!
If you're looking to change, you've got to be RADICAL! If you dont make radical changes to your situation, then you wont change what you do. You will definitely go back.
So, let me say, alright, I want to start fitness drills, engage myself in the gym and you will say for example: because I want to lose belly fat or develop some muscles, right?
You know, alot of people kind of do those stuffs at the beginning of the year, just like you planned to do (just maybe).
Well, the reality is: If you dont radically change your situation; if all you want to do is CHANGE YOUR ACTIVITIES, the reality is that, by the time you do it for a week or two in the real sense of the word, after a while, your body and your mind will retrace back to what's been comfortable with or used to and that is not hitting the gym.
A radical change for example, would be, rather than going to a gym, it will be enrolling in a program that costs you money whereby, if you dont show up, you're going to pay more money - you pay more money everytime you don't show up.
Think about it for a moment! When you remember that, at everytime I dont show up, I'm going to pay some amount, you will realize that you're DOUBLY COMMITTED!
So, you're changing that environment by putting yourself under a different condition than you were before.
Now, that's more of doing something that you dont really want to do conveniently; something your body doesnt feel cozy about but your pocket or bank account is ringing an alarm of warning about.
Friend, that's a different condition to the condition you had the previous year (doesnt matter when you're reading this).
So, you've got to change your conditions and its not limited to the gym or fitness kinda thing but you know what you're up to as you can creatively apply these principle to it as I am doing over here. Because, until the conditions are changed, even if you make a decision, you will go back to what you're used to or comfortable with.
That's the cardinal and crunchy reason why most New Year Resolutions tyres get bursted even before they hit the road of the year.
I'm just so sure that, these will help someone REPOSITION. You should really pen things down; things like goals but should be tiny bits that wont stress the mind out when it remembers how AMBIGOUS and bumpy it will be to fix them (dont mind my caption).
RADICAL CHANGE!
