Nonviolence is indeed the best action of religion. The answer depends on what the meaning of religion is and what its purpose is to follow. The ancient Indian thinkers have voted that the ultimate purpose of human life is to achieve liberation. That is, to free yourself from the continuous cycle of life and death. For this, we have to save ourselves from the spiritual uplift of our own soul and this world. It has been their opinion that for spiritual refinement and doing good deeds towards the rest of the world.
