always do the most you can!
Under any circumstances, always do the most you can, neither more nor less. but think that it will vary from one moment to another. All things are alive and changing continuously, so sometimes the most you can do will have great quality, and in others it will not be so good. When you wake up refreshed and full vigor in the morning, your performance is better than at night when you are exhausted. The most you can do will be different when you are healthy than when you are sick, or when you are sober, when you are drunk. Your performance will depend on whether you feel great and happy or disgusted, angry or jealous.
in your daily moods, I maximize what you can do change from one moment to another, from one hour to another, from one day to another. It will also change over time. As you go about acquiring the habit, it will be better than it used to be.
Regardless of the result, keep doing as much as you can, no more, no less. If you try too hard to do more than you can, you will spend more energy than necessary, and in the end your performance will not be enough. When you exceed yourself, you exhaust your body and go against yourself, and therefore you find it more difficult to reach your goals. On the other hand, if you do less than what you can do, you submit yourself to frustrations, judgments, blame and blame. Limit yourself to do the maximum you can, in any circumstance of your life. It does not matter if you are sick or tired, if you always do the most you can, you will not judge yourself in any way. and if you do not judge yourself, you will not reproach yourself, you will not blame yourself or punish yourself at all. If you always do the maximum you can, you will break the strong spell you are subjected to.
There was once a man who wanted to transcend his suffering, so he went to a Buddhist temple to find a teacher to help him. He approached him and said: Teacher, if I meditate four hours a day, how long will it take to reach enlightenment? the teacher looked at him and answered him: if you meditate four hours a day, maybe you'll get it within ten years.
the man, thinking he could do more, told him; teacher, and if I meditate eight hours a day, how long will it take to reach enlightenment?
the teacher looked at him and answered him; If you meditate eight hours a day, maybe you will achieve it within twenty years.
But why will it take longer if I meditate more? the man asked.
the teacher answered: you are not here to sacrifice your joy or your life. You are here to live, to be happy and to love. If you can reach your maximum level in two hours of meditation, but you use eight, you will only get exhausted, apart from the true meaning of meditation and not enjoy your life. Do as much as you can, maybe you will learn that regardless of the time you meditate, you can live and be happy.
NOTE: IF you do the maximum you can. You will live with great intensity. You will be productive, and you will be good to yourself because you will give yourself to your family, to your community to everything. but the action is what will make you feel immediately happy.
