The Law of Getting Things Done and Making Progress
Hi Steemians,
Here to present to you what I see as the Law of getting things done and making progress in this reality. :)
Guilty of getting things done only in the head
Who else spends a lot of time thinking about things too much? Moving stuff around in their head. Creating insurmountable Todo lists within the mind. All the things we need to do. All the things we want to do. The successes we want to attain. Raise your hand.
Ya, me too. Often.
Action, not thinking is the guideline for creation
Point is, if we spend too much time thinking about all the things we need to do. All the things we want to do and accomplish. All the things we wish to attain and have and create in life. Well, we end up doing just that: Thinking about it. It remains a thought. A thought - often also connected and charged with emotions or feelings. And thoughts, emotions and feelings do not necessarily translate well into physical action. What I mean is: You don't necessarily think or feel something and that said something manifests in life. Differently put: You do not think and feel something substantial into creation. Nah. Doesn't work like that. We are in a physical reality. This reality is ruled by physical movement. By physical doing. Action. Handling. Getting things done. In a physical way that is!
We need to stop just thinking and feeling what we want to do, accomplish and create and start converting those airy things into proper physical traction. That is - Action. Doing things. One step at a time. Doing things one step at a time and being consistent at that, say daily, accumulates. It's basic mathematics. 1 + 1 + 1. Or, 1 * n - where n
is the placeholder for the frequency at which you repeat, at which you do an additional step of getting something done for real. With physical action that is -- not how much thought or feeling you put into it in your mind.
One step at a time, over time
What is progress but making one step at a time repeated frequently over time (like daily) till the thing we are creating is created. So, let's create who we would like to be and the life we'd like to have, one step at a time. Consistently. Daily. Every day we take a step or how many we self-honestly can. Do this daily. That is the process of creation in this reality. At least to the extent that I understand it at the moment. We, the Self are the Creator, with Physical action over time being the process and application of Creation will equal the Created. Simple. Basics, really. Now only one thing left: To actually do it! :)
How does that practically look like?
Really simple. Take drawing as an example. If you wish to get better at drawing you need to put in the work over time, actually drawing over and over again. Not thinking about drawing. Not feeling drawing. Doing the drawing! So, let’s decide you draw every other day for an hour. Your frequency, the repetition, at which you take your steps forward in your creation of yourself in becoming a better artist, is every other day. You keep doing that. Every other day you take an hour, research drawing techniques, try the techniques out and draw, draw, draw! Repeat this for weeks, then months. All the way till you achieved the result you wanted to see in your art skills. This is Creation in Process. One step at a time. Repeat. Over time. Physical doing. Not just thinking and feeling.
Stretch frequently and you will see progress. Stretch once a month or once a year and you won’t.
Creator or Not-Creator
After all, do we want to be creators of self and life, or do we step down and lay down that authority and let others create us and our life for us? Be warned though with the latter for the created result may not be in your favor.
I'll leave you with some inspirational words from a man that was 'ahead' of his time in self-awareness and self-creation:
“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done. Make at least one definite move daily toward your goal.” ~ Bruce Lee
Remember, we are Creators of Self and our Character is reflected in how we treat other life forms.
Steem-On ,
Nebi :)
Nice posting, that makes me wonder. Every action has a reaction.
Yep. I'd say only two reaction when you water it down: Creation or Consequence.
