RE: H2s and where it can hide.. A thought

in #life8 years ago

Thanks for post. Could more clear explain where from was it appear?? Looks like it is a regular metalwork on open air. It's something surprising for me. But to be fair on my site sometimes we have false H2S alarms near the welding workshop as well.

This post is to get you to think.. Do some research it could save your life.. Know the possibilities with what you are working with...

Sounds quite arrogantly. But it's up to you.. no problem..

Turnarounds
Job to job to job
All over the world
7 days a week 12 hours a day
In petrochemical refeniries, chemical plants, off shore oil rigs, power plants, coal burners, natty gas, solar, nuclear.

Its process piping, thats old. Proper procedures were not followed.

The spool peice was pulled from the system and was not pressure washed nor decontaimanted, steamed, or baked out. Then brough to the laydown yard, fab shop. To do repeairs on.

So there was left over process. Oil, gas, benzene, naptha, hydrofloric acid ect. Heated it up while welding/ cutting/fabricating. Created a cloud of h2s.

This type of work isnt just new to new fabrication. Nothing even close.
Nothing false about it. People get killed , mangaled, and posined, all the time in the turnaround side of the industry.
