Very thought-provoking. It makes me wonder - why do we have these taboos? And the more I think about it, the more taboos I think of! @yidneth's comment reminded me that money can indeed be a huge taboo subject when it's in short supply. Why is this? Clearly it's a sign of the value that our society puts on money.
I also think about a bizarre phobia-type fear that I've had since childhood, that I've been trying to psych myself up to talk to my mother about for ages! It's the type of fear that I'm unlikely to encounter in life, yet I can't discuss it with anyone. Maybe it's because I once confessed it to a friend, when I was about 10, and she laughed at me. I must discuss it with Mum! Psychology certainly is a fascinating subject!
