Those places Bitcoin doesn't reach… at least… not for now

We get moored into discussions, debates, tweets, alerts… technology makes our head spin, and its advances make the less aware like me, feel like we consistently strive to grip the concept of infinity, and yet, it just keeps slipping away. We enter the mindset of continued advancement without finish lines. ‘So what’s next?’ ‘And after that?’ ‘And after the after’s?’ And the answer we get, will always be the same as when we ask ourselves ‘what comes after the cosmos?’

‘More’.

And so, simplicity, silence and remoteness brings these virtual questioners back a little bit closer to mental rest and inner peace (needed from time to time). And so, I would like to take you to those remote corners of the earth, where bitcoins, AI and robotics do not reach… at least… not for now.

Today, I want you to come to a long stone wall, probably constructed over 100 years ago, dividing lands where the royalties hunted boars and pheasants. It’s about 2 meters high, and a relatively easy climb. It’s hot, but the sun is starting to lower. Nearby, a cricket chirps, reminding you of your location, even with your eyes closed: dry, yellow fields and robust oak trees. Blue skies and unpardoning rays of sun that penetrate your pores with no mercy. Once you climb this wall, you can sit on it for hours and gaze into space and time, all at once. Looking out on the countryside you are looking at the past and the present. Centuries ago, whomever stood there, would see the same, and on the horizon, immutable mountains. It’s so quiet you can hear you heart beat with the occasional bird flutter past. It reminds you how simplicity is sometimes the most striking part of life… and it’s free!

This little hidden place, sits in Madrid, Spain. 28 km from the hustle bustle of the city. But this gem could be anywhere. It’s not what it is, but what you make it to be, and how you take it in.
