The Joys of Parenting, or My Daughter's "Masterpiece" (My Very First Steemit Post)
So, this evening I find myself having one of those moments... those points in my parenting life where I realize "Dang! I must be doing something right!"
My ten-year-old daughter has been obsessed lately with making everything she possibly can in the kitchen. I have to blame this partially on her fascination with the show Master Chef Junior. However, I'd also like to think that I have helped to cultivate her interest in the culinary arts. Not that I'm a Master Chef or anything, but I digress. If I'm being completely honest, I'm a decent cook and I love healthy options (and sweets...I'm only human), but presentation has never been a thing when it comes to serving up a meal, let alone a snack.
I'm convinced more and more every day that she really is my mini me, based on her food choices. But, I have to give the presentation credit to her favorite show, because I would never ever - not in a million years - choose to combine the two!
This is her bedtime snack, her "Masterpiece," as she called it. :)
