Time to pastor guys.

When you are working in a software company, you need programming skills. When you want to become a doctor, you need to study medicine and learn the required skills for that profession.

In every area of your life, you need certain skills. Without them, you can't do what you maybe want to.

There are also some skills you can learn to increase the quality of YOUR life. We can call them life hacks. See this life hacks as a programming language for example. The more you deal with it, the better you will get.

Why is that so important.png

The answer is easy because it affects you every day.

Life is....png

And you can influence your life quality.

Let's start with something easy.
And by the way, most of you already heard about that or are living according to the following principle, but maybe you are not aware of that.

Let's take something that has to do with money.
Imagine you want to buy a present for your girlfriend, or wife.
And you missed to do it earlier, and now you are under stress.

You are hustling to the city; you have to hurry because the stores will close soon. You buy something from which you think it would please her.

Now you are coming back to your car, and you find a ticket on your window for false parking. In a hurry, you had no time to look longer for a proper parking place that's why you take the risk to get a ticket.

I am not recommending this behavior, but I think many of us were sometimes in such a situation.
So you have to pay the fine, money you could use for something else. Maybe you planned already something with the money you have now to use to pay the fine.

What if you would have already some money for exactly this kind of cases? Yes, you heard it right. Imagine somewhere at home or at your bank you reserved each month a certain amount for fines or for other unexpected expenses.

Or let me ask another question. What if you would find the exact amount of money you need for the fine on the street?

Mental Accounting.png

It may sound funny, or even striking and let me say to you that it could be and it serves only as an example.

People are treating money differently depending on where it's coming from.
Your hard earned money from your profession is more worth for you than money you won, or like mentioned above found on the street.

In psychology this kind of technic or hack, however, you will name it is called mental accounting.
It is considered a classical logical fallacy. Turn a loss into a win!

You are tricking your mind knowing that the money you will use to pay the fine is less worth. Of course, it is not, but your mind think that this is money is not worth crying why?

You already prepared it for that. This money you are not including in your financial math. It has only one purpose, one task.

For example money, you found on the street. As a good a citizen, of course, you would try to find the rightful owner but even then are you treating this money differently as it would be your hard earned money.

Same counts when you had a place which is only for this kind of situation. You would say for example: "Great that I have prepared already money for that type of scenario."

It will not change the truth that you have to pay your fine, but you are tricking your mind for the sake of your peace. This is Mental accounting. You cant change the fact, but you can change the influence the fact has on you. And this is a big principle. That means that you can turn something that looks likes a loss into a win. I am not saying that other people will see it that way but that's not the point because we are talking about your life.

You are so right, really nice article @modernpastor and very well written! 👍

Gerne auch mit meinem 2. Account hier ge-resteemed. ✌
Gruß aus Berlin. Jonas @future24

Very cleaver article. I read that if all people on the planet had to take money and make everyone equal. That is to force to begin all from the very beginning. Then, after a certain period of time, society will once again share in the poor and the rich.
That's how we think determines our place in society and our income.
Thank you @modernpastor

That is very very true, good point!

Indeed interesting point :)

Interesting way of looking at it. I mean personally, I look at something I earn with much more care and respect. Whether it's my income from work or even a blog post I write here on Steemit. My blood sweat and tears have been put into it so yeah, it's appreciate more by myself.

But like you mentioned, the world looks at it the same was. A buck is a buck. A euro is a euro. An SBD is an SBD...No matter how it's earned.

Something to think about for sure, appreciate the insight.

Yes, this is what I meant. Also what you earned here on Steemit has more value than money coming from a different place. Maybe I should have used also this example. Of course, it'ss improbable that you will find money on the street but compared to your steemit money you would give that money not the same attention.

but sometimes a sbd is $1,- and sometimes it's $13 🤑(and then the next moment it's $4 again 😭 LOL

I totally agree @modernpastor, it's a matter of mindset. Despite it's a financial loss you can set your mind to think it's not. And this way it won't hurt that much.
Thank you @modernpastor for letting me know its called Mental Accounting! :)

You got it exactly the right way. :)

Very very interesting post and outlook. It's funny how the universe works.

It works in a way that it will treat $0.01 the same as $1M, because the universal vibration of money is exactly the same, no matter what the amount is. I read somewhere that if you see $0.01 on the floor and you don't pick it up, that's the same as saying no and denying everything else coming your way... :)

Good point. You're right technically speaking it's the same.

Money shouldn't be something to cry about.
Scripture says that it's better to only have little but living a calm life than owning a lot but having your hands full with labor. (Ecclesiastes 4,6)

Good biblical point. And yes, I agree with you :)

Perspective may really be everything.

Truly it is :)
Thanks for your comment.

Yes we have to be careful about letting things hypnotize us.thanks man
