RISK
We live in a world where everything is full of risk. Waking up in the morning is a risk because one cannot determine what the next second has in stock. The food we eat at times are so risky that it could be poisonous to our health. The very road we take to work or office or school are much more riskier, because we might get knocked down by a vehicle or any other locomotive. Our jobs or occupations are risky because one cannot really know the extent of envy which may develop into a much stronger negative emotion our job/occupation has brought upon us from friends, colleagues,bosses, family members etc. Everyday we face a thousand risky situations.
On entering the house, the night is so very risky, because one could sleep and not wake up again the next day, armed robbers could bust in and spoil your night (I am not trying to scare you). Life is full of risk.
What is risk?
Risk is the possibility of something bad happening at some time in the future or a situation that could be dangerous or have a bad result. Risk is also a venture undertaken without regard to possible loss or injury. Risk is one of the greatest factors inherited in a man's life whether he acknowledges it or not. Risk has and will always remain a part of us as long as we keep on living an active everyday life. So many are afraid of taking risk and have forgotten that without risk, there will be no experience and maybe no achievements too. Let's consider some forms of risk:
Environmental risk
Environmental risk deals with the kind of risk associated with our environment or risk which we experience as a result of our environment. An example of risk which happens as a result of our environment is air borne disease. Our environment and the ozone layer is getting affected daily by dangerous chemicals all over the world, so man is in high risk because the air we breathe is no longer friendly with us. Humans extract a lot of radiation from so many things which could be our cell phones, cellular masses and even our energy bulbs. All of this causes some percentage of damages to humans and we cannot do without most of this devices despite the fact that they are so risky to our health.
Natural disasters are also risk associated with some of our environments. Man does not know when exactly the next earthquake will happen or in which location and country but the truth is some of this thing will always happen.
Financial risk
This risk is the type which is associated with our money. This risk is very important if one is to succeed in life. We invest money in one way or the other not minding if at the end of the day that money will still be ours or not. Without money, life is boring to some of us and with money many behave like queens and kings. Risk involved in money is at a greater percentage. One must accept the risk because in doing so, we do not know the extent to which such risked money will take us to.
Life risk
Life itself is a risk, play it well and one lives above the problem of the world, gamble with it badly, one will as well get the other side of life. Some of our parents risked their happiness and resources to make sure their children attain education to a greater heights. Their expectations is that their children will take care of them at old age, but not all the time do children return this favor. One cannot really predict tomorrow,this becomes a risk which is very much necessary to undertake in life.
Material risk
We are at risk of losing our properties daily. At times we lose knowingly and other times unknowingly. We purchased some of our materials and valuables online without meeting face to face with the merchants. It takes a certain level of determination and courage for such risk to be undertaken by both parties involved in the trade. The buyer is at great risk if at the end, the online purchased items fail to work properly. But it is a risk worth taking because, it promotes trust, build relationships and encourage authentic and original items.
Academic risk
So many have gone to school without actually knowing they will graduate. And as a result of this, some have stopped half way without even completing their expected duration of studies. One needs patience to really calm down knowing that some risk are worth taking so long one knows where he/she is heading to in life.
Occupational risk
A greater percentage of the risk man faces or enquires to himself is from the his occupation. Example include those working in the military, this work exposes a lot to risk which makes some to have double mind about themselves, one can die at any time any day. But every risk so long it is for a good purpose is worth undertaking.Outside those in the military, the bankers, lawyers, lecturers,politicians, etc are all facing risk, in fact there is no work without it's risk. So many fall aside due to the stress to which their job/occupation has inflicted on them.
Marital risk
Most people dream that someday they will find a good partner suitable to marry and then start up their own family. We only know a part of a person, not everything, because at times we do not know the heart. Unluckily for some, wrong partners are what they get, this might be as a result of one mistake or the other forgetting marriage is not something one should go in under the shades of mistakes. To some who feels they have gotten their choice, one year or two, the real character of the spouse emerge and one will be thinking of what went wrong. At times problem happen from our families, inflicting pain and regrets on our marriages which was supposed to be enjoyed.
The greatest risk of a man is for him, not to know himself, what gives him happiness, what inspires him, what makes him sad, what he loves and hates, his direction in life, what he wants to achieve, if he dies, where he will go. In reality, life is full of risk, take the risk for it is part of us, it is what makes you stronger, take it for good,good risk is worth taking.
