Being MOM

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I am a mother of 3 lovely little boys, ages 3, 1, and a little over a week old. Getting the opportunity to be a mother is truly rewarding, and the greatest accomplishment of my life, but I'd be lying if I said it was all sunshine and rainbows...
Its currently almost 2 am. I've been awake all day and my newborn is still being fussy. Its hard work trying to keep mini-humans alive. There's always some point in the day when I start to feel guilty about some small thing, like maybe I shouldn't have given them that extra pop-tart to make them stop asking, or maybe I let them watch a little to much t.v just so mommy could catch a break... But something I realized is, its Ohkay to get overwhelmed, it's completely natural actually and I'm sure every mother out there has these same moments of defeat. It's how you pick yourself back up and dust off that matters!!
All to often mothers lose themselves to the daily grind of being a mom and wife, and somewhere along the line we actually forget who we really are. This can cause one to become bitter or resentful.
So to all the moms out there feeling a little down or guilty about their day, pour yourself a glass of wine, or eat that chocolate, take that long relaxing bath, because you probably deserve it. Take the time out you need to find yourself, get back to your zen. Tomorrow is another day, we can choose to make it better
