Practicing: Positivity & Patience

in #life7 years ago

I can't stress enough how vital it is for you to do everything in your power to make sure you have a healthy mind, body, and perspective of yourself. This past week I've been in the dumps due to some nerve irritation in my right arm. This is prevented me from training, my daily routine at work, and has completely consumed my mental state.

Granted, I am very lucky that I work for a Chiropractor and this sort of condition is right up their alley. I thought that one adjustment would instantly relieve my symptoms but it did not. This made me irritable/obsessive over my condition, given me difficulty sleeping, which in turn causes me stress = tightness in my neck and back. As cliche as it sounds:

Worrying is a vicious cycle.

Three adjustments later, multiple Epsom salt baths, trigger point therapy, laser treatments, ultrasound, stretching, traction and I'm finally starting to feel normal again.

I'm here to let you know that healing takes time, persistence, and most importantly patience. Pretty much like everything else in life. I have been completely driven and diligent about rehabing my arm, but my postitivity isn't there yet.

But breaking that negative barrier is most important.

If I have a miserable outlook, I'll get miserable results.

We have to learn from our lows in order to appreciate our highs.

I try to have this attitude with every situation in my life. I am a go-getter, and I will stop at nothing until I achieve what I need or want. I just need to work on being more appreciative of what I already have and know that others are suffering far worse battles.

What's different now is the fact that I need to take what I've been through, learn, and prevent for next time. Starting with positivity.

What is difficult time in your life, and how did you overcome it? I wanna know. 👇👇
