The children of the...80s
We grew up during the decade that ended with the biggest changes of the century.
We have witnessed this change and we were the last of what one might describe as innocent.
Innocence of which technology changed entirely...
The bikes and toys in the neighborhood until late in the evening was our every day routine.
You see, back, during those years there were no cell phones...they entered in our lives shortly after puberty.
We talked with our buddies for hours on the phone.
We didn’t have computers yet and if someone did we weren’t supposed to touch it. It was like a tool and it was extremely expensive.
We waited each week for our favorite magazine to come out and we used to run to neighborhood’s market to buy it.
We were also expecting the new posters that would decorate the already filled of other posters walls of our bedrooms.
In the evenings we were chilling with our parents watching with anxiety the series of that time and the next morning we used to analyze it with our classmates.
Our console games was the legendary Super Mario on Game Boy, Tetris and Sonic.
We were teenagers when Walkman was replaced by the CD player and seemed so beautiful...
We often made our own recordings with buddies, pretending that we had our own radio-station. And late at night we were all listening to the same radio station because in those years we were “talking” with songs and not emojis.
When the Internet first came in our lives, it was slow as a turtle and if someone tried to make a call...you were offline.
We used to talk on how we'll change the world.
I still believe that in our time the best cartoons were created.
I’m still looking at the marks from knocks and scratches on the knees and I sorely miss these years.
But now...it is an entirely different world. And at times it looks weird.
We feel strange that children are afraid to play in the streets and returning late at home isn't even an option.
Because the more world changes around us, I feel like we lost a part of ourselves. We have witnessed the nicest puberty and the most disappointing adult life.
What does the future hold for us?
Unknown...
But it certainly will not take us those beautiful memories

Fantastic post! You have it completely right, I was only saying to someone the other day, about the memories we had of the 80s and 90s and what great times they were. Kids from this day and age in years to come will only be able to talk about computer games they had or what console came out when. Its upsetting but that is what will happen.
Yeah this was very good
I am an 80's boy and I told myself once that I wanted to grow real quick so that I could attend parties and stay late at night becuase those were the years of paid parties. I was full of hope then but after sometimes it all went to ruin as my body deteriorated.
But again the 80's was fun for me @mindtrap
And Lovely Battle City!
Thank u for reminding
Loved it
