A Part-Time Job or Steemit?

I ran into a friend who told me he was looking for a part-time job to supplement his income. On the ride home, I tossed our conversation around in my head and thought about Steemit. The more I thought about it, I came to the conclusion that it could be a good solution for him.

He told me he filled in a few job applications, down-sized his resume since he wasn’t looking for anything career shattering, and he interviewed with some people. He told me about some of the questions he came up against. Now on the drive home, those questions really bothered me, and I couldn’t help think how much more fun it would be for him to work hard at Steemit.

I made this sample employee application for fun:

You nice folks here could care less where he went to grade school, why he worked only three months at each of his last four jobs, and what few strengths and many weaknesses he might have. He wouldn’t need to explain any of that to you, unless you really wanted to know. But I know, while his explanations would/could preclude him from getting a “real” job, here on Steemit he wouldn’t have to worry about that. That’s a refreshing thought.

And he could tell you exactly how he felt about the last company he worked for, and describe to you, in the most horrific details, the obnoxious boss who drove him to run away without you thinking, “He could leave us too if he thinks we’re a horror.”

And he wouldn’t have to worry about being politically correct and tolerant of stupid people, and people who are trying to get over on him.

How about this question: What would someone who dislikes you say about you?

Does he really have to answer that? We know already. It wouldn’t be pretty.

He said on the application there is a yes or no question: Can you work consistently and report to work on time?

Who is going to say no to that?

I told him he should be glad it said consistently and not constantly. He can be consistent.

Then I got to thinking why I left my last job? I got tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Here at Steemit I can do something different every time I write a post. How cool is that?

Plus, working Steemit instead of a part-time job, I wouldn’t have to drive in the heavy East Coast traffic, get all dressed up and I can freely move about in the comfort of my own home.

Then my friend said he had to sign the application to certify that the answers given were true and complete. I added to the best of his guilty recollection and knowledge. :-)

More good reasons to work Steemit!

I will email him and let him know Steemit is a good option. I will let him know it will take time, so get whatever hold-over job possible, and work Steemit any free minute you have. That's what I am doing. I definitely believe it will pay off in the long run. And did I say it was a fun place to hang out?
