Almost Jumping - A short motivational post inspired by @humanearl
@humanearl has made a few motivational posts about seeking out what you really want to do with life, and going all in to achieve that goal. This is no easy task, and requires a lot of guts, grit, and determination. Mostly guts, though...imo.
Bringing us to the photo contained within this post. The poker chips pictured were designed by my sister and I. A friend and I started up our own charitable gaming company, licensed and everything 100% official through the Michigan Charitable Gaming Commission. We had our fingerprints on file, an official license to host gambling events at our approved location, the whole 9 yards.
Over the course of 3 years, we raised over $100,000 for local charities (mostly VFW halls, clubs for kids, local schools, etc.), made a lot of friends, and learned a lot of life experiences along the way. It was a great venture, and a shot at almost doing something I really enjoyed, as opposed to my 5-9 job.
In the end we made almost 0 profit, so the business did not produce, and we decided to shut it down. We put forth a ton of effort and failed. I am still waiting for that next idea, or opportunity to present itself...so I can try again. This isn't over.
Morale of the story is, you need to take the chance so you can find out. Good or bad. Try.
Excellent your publication friend I like you, you have a new follower will read you. greetings a hug
