Surprising facts about our body #3
Hi Fellow Steemians,
Here's another surprising fact about our body.
Every bit of information that make you - your blue print- is stored in your DNA, which stands for Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid. Your DNA is composed of long strings of the four different types of nucleotides (Adenine, Thiamine, Cytosine and Guanine)- a string that is billions of nucleotides long. The order of these nucleotides is what codes for the information that make you.
Through a process known as Transcription, our cells transcribe the information in DNA into another form of message known as messanger RNA. The message in messenger RNA is then translated to aminoacid sequences of your proteins. Every triplet code (e.g. ATG) codes for amino acids that make your proteins- your hair, skin, enzymes, etc; hence the importance of your DNA.
