Venus was the first inhabited world of the solar system

in #life8 years ago

Scientists from the US and Sweden have called the possible conditions of existence on Venus habitable conditions and allowed the planet in ancient times could maintain habitability. The study aims to publish in the journal Geophysical Research Letters and is available at arXiv.org.

Astronomers have shown that if Venus orbits the earth 16 days slower than at present, the temperature of its atmosphere and the surface would have been comparable to terrestrial values. This would not prevent the increase in solar flux, the value of which in ancient times, according to scientists, was higher by 46-70 percent.

Around 715 million years ago the climate of Venus, as shown by scientists, could not have been suitable for life. However, if its surface is initially shallow ocean even existed in earlier times planet can support on its surface the existence of liquid water and suitable conditions for primitive life.

Scientists have conducted a three-dimensional modeling of climate change that may have occurred on Venus in the past three billion years. To do this, astronomers used topographic data obtained during the Magellan mission, and available climate models of the planet.

Dimensions, weight and acceleration due to gravity on the surface of the second distance from the Sun planet system comparable to those of the Earth. Temperature modern atmosphere of Venus reaches 750 degrees Kelvin, and its shell of gas is 90 times denser than Earth's. A full revolution around the Sun makes the planet for 243 Earth days.
