Do not be afraid of the dark

Good night friends of steemit, as few people know since I was little afraid of the dark, one of my anecdotes is that I was a little scared when I was passing through some hallway of my house with the lights off or not being able to sleep If all my room was totally dark, this led me to think: since when did we begin to fear the darkness? And if over time I could overcome this fear that not only affects me but many people today in day.

As we all know, fear is normal in us, we may be afraid to betray or we may be afraid of failure, in short, there are many types of fear that do not allow us to live in peace.



This led me to dig a little on the internet and I was able to get a phobia called NICTOFOBIA. It is specified by an irrational fear of the night or the darkness and is generated by a distorted perception of the brain of what could happen in the middle of the darkness.

There are many ways to call it: cepophobia, acluophobia, lophobia, microphobia or to put it much easier fear to dark.

Fear of darkness, or nicotophobia, is normal in most children and in a few cases in adults. Nicotrophobia is often not a fear of the dark, but the dangers that we imagine could be hidden when we are in total darkness. For this reason it is said that darkness is considered enemy of reason.



When we find ourselves in a totally dark place we can feel an uncontrollable fear, Sigmund Freud (father of psychoanalysis) carried out a scientific investigation and according to Freudian psychology is a consequence of the "separation anxiety disorder" and usually appears before the 2 years of age.

When children start sleeping alone it creates a certain kind of trauma of loneliness and fear, another assumption, says that this fear is in the imagination and causes you to lose the sense of control over the environment. That fear is an evolutionary trait built to survive that over the years became instinctive and can generate a form of anxiety.



No matter what the explanation, remember that everything is in your mind, stay calm and calm that nothing bad is going to happen, try not to think of things that cause you more fear and that we are really afraid of that is what We think believing you can do us harm and you.
