"Plants have feelings though" - No, STOP comparing animals to plants!

Whenever you hear a story on the news about a terrorist attack, or mass loss of human life, is your immediate reaction to sympathise with plants?

Hear me out...

Whenever vegans and vegetarians demonstrate how cruel the meat industry is, meat eaters are quick -- REAL QUICK -- to start sympathising with carrots and potatoes. All of a sudden they become staunch plant rights activists.

"Plants feel pain, too. They suffer just like animals!"

Look, if you wouldn't compare human suffering to the alleged suffering of tomatoes and cucumbers, please do not insult the animal kingdom by comparing it to the plant kingdom. Not only is it an insult to my intelligence, but it is a massive insult to the animals and serves no other purpose than to trivialise their suffering.
