Are adults really more intelligent than children?
We've been brainwashed into thinking that memorising and regurgitating information on command at school, college and university is the key to a happy and successful life. But, if that's the case, why are so many young people riddled with anxiety and depression, and suffering with mental illness? How come so many adults have midlife crisis'? Why are suicide rates so alarmingly high in our society? Many of these people have all their state-approved qualifications and so-called 'successful' jobs, but they're still unhappy and miserable on the inside.
There's so much to learn from children and animals, because they're more connected to source than we are. They're spontaneous, joyful, creative and compassionate. They don't care about 'results' and seldom take life too seriously. They don't judge others based on their income, social status, looks or other any other superficial metrics. And yet, despite all this, we, the adults, think we're superior. We have suppressed our inner child and cut ourselves off from the heart-based intelligence of children and animals. Our minds have become closed, and our hearts cold. Is a cold, calculated intellect really the true measure of intelligence? I wouldn't say so.
We need a spiritual revolution as much as a political one.
