A little fact about the statue of liberty
Most times, people think that some statue erected are just for beautification and decoration not knowing that there were events that happened before erecting it.
Now we are going to be talking a little about the statue of liberty.
The statue of liberty is a figure of a robed woman representing libertas, a Roman liberty goddess. The statue became an icon of freedom and of the united states. The statue of liberty is more than a monument. She is a beloved friend, a living symbol of freedom to millions around the world. The height of the statue from her heel to the top of her head is 111 feet, 6 inches. The status has a 35 foot waistline. It weighs a total of 225 tons(450,000 pounds). There are seven rays on her crown , one for each of the seven continents, the are measuring up to a feet in length and weighing as much as 150 pounds. The chains at the feet of the statue lie broken shackles of oppression and tyranny..
The creator of the statue were Frederic Bartholdi (a sculptor) and engineer Gustave Eiffel whom he collaborated with. It serves as a reservoi of the statues history.
