Stephen Miller, the widely accepted architect of Trump's cruel, draconian and racist immigration policies, is himself the product of immigration. Just over a century ago, his Jewish ancestors came to America to escape their own persecution. It is hard to believe that Miller now aligns himself with the type of people that eighty years ago would have thrown his emaciated carcass in an oven, after having worked him to death.
Today, that same mindset would as happily destroy his life as he is happily and eager to destroy those of dark skinned people. In fact, his new allies may hate his Jewishness even more than they hate dark skin, only using him as they used the Judenrats in Hitler's Germany to achieve their modern day pogroms. But this our new reality.
For now. Reason in our reality seems to be making a slow comeback.
For example, Miller's uncle, Dr. David S. Glosser, has written a scathing opinion piece detailing Miller's family history and how they came to America, revealing the breathtaking hypocrisy of his nephew, along with sharing his obvious embarrassment and disgust with his sister's son.
It's been a while since I could honestly say I am proud of America or an American, but today, I am beaming with pride.
