How to get a free accommodation?! _ Croatian Coast

How many times you wished to take a rest and go to some nice place? For example, to the coast. I believe you even don't know the number. And I believe you gave up because it is too far away from your home, and you will need the money for fuel, apartment / hotel, restaurants etc... I will prove you in this story that you can travel almost free. If you are adventure lover and can manage without comfort. Or with comfort like on the picture…

Our journey started one year ago... It was fresh summer morning at 5 a.m. We loaded our bicycles with sleeping bags, tent, some clothes and some food; 350 km were waiting for us.

It wasn’t easy. Hills and valleys, up, up, up and down, up hills were crazy and sitting whole day on the bike saddle can be very uncomfortable... But that is all pleasure because you know that you don't have limits. After we have passed over 100 kilometers, finally followed deserved reach home made meal.

And rest...

Our overnight destination was the city on the three rivers, Karlovac. We arrived to our campsite in the dark. And this was our place under the stars! And we didn't pay for it. :) Because, actually, it is forbidden! But, the rules are there to be violated. ;)

Second day was terrible. Only up the hill... It was so hard, tired, hot, 150 kilometers! However, this was our only job and we did it! And finally, so late in the night we arrived there. Our destination for second night was Island Cres. Our campsite was in olive grove. We choose the room position by ourselves. :D

In the morning, surprise! Police warn us that we shouldn't sleep here because it is forbidden camping near the camp. We knew it ;). But, problem is that you need to pay for one small tent for two people the same amount like you are by car and need a place for car and a big size tent! You just need to risk sometimes. And in Croatia, that is not so hard. You can come in the late night to the some large and crowded camp, choose good place for your tent and have a good rest until the morning, and nobody will notice that you didn't pay for it. We tried it in few Islands... But, psssst! I didn’t tell you that. ;)

Most of the time we spent at Island Mali Lošinj. Our tent was set there for a few days and nobody noticed that we didn't pay for it. And we had accommodation next to the beach. Falling asleep with the waves is an amazing feeling. View on the picture is from our tent...

When we were cycling back home the weather was so bad. Rain hit us in the face, and hurricane wind in the chest. We persuaded the cop to let us down the bridge because it was closed for motors and cyclists.

It was a hard and interesting mission, but we got it!

Part of the way back home we went by train because we were too much tired and weather was terrible. And it was one of the best meal we had.

So, you can see how cheap you can travel. And you will have so much more adventures and memories. But problem is if you can't move away from comfort, what it means to you and if you do really need it.
