Ustad Abdul Somad said there were allegations on the internet that he was a radical cleric
Ustad Abdul Somad said there were allegations on the internet that he was a radical cleric. "Many people accuse me on the internet, he said I am a hard jihad, radical cleric," said Abdul Somad while filling duha lecture at Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, February 4, 2018. In the presence of Vice President Jusuf Kalla who listened to his lecture, Abdul Somad explained that the person who accused him of radical must have watched his lecture only on the part of his talbiyah with a loud tone. "He must be watching me, Labbaika Allahumma labbaik," he said, shouting. Abdul Somad then exemplifies his gentle speech by singing talbiyah. "Let's watch the gentle Labbaika Allahumma labbaika Labbaika la syarika laka labbaika Innal hamda wan ni'mata laka wal mulk laa syarika lak." Abdul Somad joked that the man who accused him of being radical could not watch his lecture longer on the internet. "The package (data package) is not there," he said. Ustad Abdul Somad had previously been expelled when going to preach. In addition to Bali, Hong Kong immigration officials have also asked Abdul Somad to return to Indonesia. Ustad Abdul Somad went to Hong Kong to be invited to fill one of the WNI recitals there. When just landed at Hong Kong International Airport, in December 2017, immigration officers blocked him and did not allow him to enter the country for no apparent reason. Source: tempo
