 I read those words from  Gavin Aung Than's comic: 8 tips to be more creative  and are still ringing in my head.

There's this wrong idea  about routine and how it ruins everything in your life. Because creativity, spontaneity and lots of energy is the answer for success!

No. Throughout the years we've learned that those are fractions of the chart, pieces from a whole. Everyday has to be balanced between passion and discipline.  


In the words of   Twyla Tharp:

 "  Over time, as the daily routines become second nature, discipline morphs into habit."

  What she's summarizing is that our everyday actions not only shapes our future but our mindset,  even our bodies.

To understand this a little bit more, we need to answer the following:

  • What exactly is a routine?
  •  What are we doing wrong?
  •  How can we improve them?
  •  And when is time for a change?     


•What exactly is a routine?  
A common task done regularly, usually done every day or over an interval of time.  Every day, there are routines that we follow internationally:

Brush your teeth in the morning 

Three meals a day

Shower daily

Wash your clothes. 

These are routines or daily habbits that keep us healthy and a way, alive.  We follow them when studying, working or maybe spending time with our loved ones. It's a way to learn new information, good or bad.

•What are we doing wrong?    
When the information is already learned, the benefit has already been taken and a greater goal is necessary. When they take time from us, when they keep us stuck in an unhealthy habit, where we simply can not move forward.

Remember that a routine is a tool, a process for sometime greater.

•How can we improve them?
Never let them get you stuck in the same place. Even your training routine needs to be increase for muscles tonification and better resistance.
 

 You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.

   And when is time for a change?

When you feel it.
That so called "6th sense" or "gut feeling" is simply our brain telling us that this is as good as it gets. That's it, you need to move forward. If something in your life no longer helps to improve yourself, either financially, physically or spiritually, it's a sign that's time for a change.
