As the steem price goes down, the vote value of bots also goes down. That means that your 100$ is now worth a lot more in steem, so you got upvoted into trending. If you were not on the trending page, I wouldn't downvote you.
But anyway, using bidbots is not something to be encouraged, some people will still downvote you for any amount used.
Okay thanks for the tips. It makes sense as my lasts posts were a while ago and Steem was definitely a different price. I think the only saving grace is that it's not like this is totally a sham piece of content. I spent many hours putting this together and if I happened to be at the top for my bid bot abuse, at least it was a decent piece of content.
