RE: My Brand New Life - Part 1

in #life7 years ago

I'm glad you decided to strike a balance; always funny makes me nervous...like someone's hiding something...like this. What a magnificent post. Isn't it amazing how great it feels to give? You can bet that those guys never forgot it either.

Have a good time tonight; it sounds fun.

I wonder how many here will ask you what a "toonie" is ? :)

Norman didn't remember me the last time I saw him. He was sleeping in the ditch with a bag of beer and I gave him a ride back to the rez. He was about a 45-minute drive from his home and I had a great talk with him. He used to be a rodeo cowboy back in the day, before the devil woman got a hold of him. He also tried to get me to come in and meet his daughter because she needs to meet a nice man. I told him that my wife wouldn't like that and off he went. I heard he died not too long ago. He was in his late sixties when I gave him a ride, so he would have lived into his seventies. That's a pretty long life for an alcoholic.

As for the toonie query: I was lucky to get you to read it. I doubt anyone else will. I imagine that is why they took the little eye out. It's depressing to see 10 upvotes and only 2 people have read it. The only reason anyone reads my stuff is that I might talk about shitting myself or something and I use the comedyopenmic tag.

No, I wrote this for me and my wife. We had a good cry and a long hug. Then we had a beautiful date night.

I hope you had a good night too.

aww Norman, that was my grandfather's name. It was nice of you to treat him like a human being, as opposed to so many who see alcoholics, drug users, street people etc. as their their condition as opposed to people with a problem. haha trying to set you up with his daughter! Poor girl when you imagine what her life was like in that house.

That's sweet. Our night was also a good one!
