Congrats on the new position! There is a general miss conception that youth equals inexperience or lack of knowledge, which is not always the case. I have met a lot of young professionals far more knowledgeable in their field than their older peers.
That's right, but I guess its not easy to convince some who believe that their age means that they are experienced as well. I think it is largely due to culture as well.
Yes, you're right, culture definitely plays an important role in this equation, as whatever goes in North America, won't apply in Japan, China, etc.
