...is the problem, shamed into purchasing, by societal expectations, built by corporate propaganda and pushed on to you by the people around you.

The fact that it costs more than fuel is telling me that it is not miserly, it is good business sense to take your own water everywhere. Which, judging by the current prices, apparently not common sense.
