PUBG is setting new records on Steam, becoming the most played game in terms of concurrent users.

The Early Access game peaked with 1,349,584 players this weekend, which beats the previous record held by DOTA 2.

In fact, it's a significant step up from the 1,291,328 record set by DOTA 2 back in March 2016.

It's especially good news for Microsoft and the Xbox One, which welcomes PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds later this year.

With Microsoft trying to shift more consoles and compete with the PS4, bagging a game this popular could help close the gap.

Sony will be less impressed, especially with the uncertainty about a Battlegrounds PS4 release date.

Developer Bluehole previously said the game would release on PS4, but recent comments have suggested that a PlayStation launch is up in the air.

But with these numbers on Steam, Sony should do everything in its power to get PUBG ported to PS4 asap.
