What is Torque, RPM and Power
How often we hear the terms like Torque, RPM and Power
Do we really know the meaning of these terms, Today I will try to explain these terms in a very simplistic way
**Torque is the force applied at a distance
** RPM: It stands for Revolutions per minute
RPM is used to indicate the speed of something by saying how many times per minute it will go around in a circle.
Example: The second hand of the watch takes 60 seconds to rotate once so the RPM of the second hand of the watch is 1 RPM
Similarly, minute hand of watch takes 60 mins to rotate once so the rpm will be =1/60rpm
Similarly, hour hand takes 12 hours to rotate once so rpm will= 1/60*12 rpm
** Power: Power is rate at which work is done in case of a car the work done is the distance traveled
Power= Force* distance* rpm
Power is the function of torque, so we can say:
Power = Torque* RPM
