7 Life Hacks Using Hair Conditioner
Life Hacks Using Hair Conditioner
I love a good hair conditioner for my tresses, but a cheap bottle from the dollar store can do a world of wonders too!
Wrinkle Release Spray. I loathe ironing. In eight years of raising a family, I have begrudgingly ironed four times, so thank the powers that be for store bought wrinkle release when you have no time to iron! However why buy it when you can make your own?
2 cups water
1 tsp. hair conditioner
1 Tbs. distilled white vinegar
Combine ingredients into a spray bottle with a mist nozzle. Shake well. Mist onto wrinkled clothes, and smooth out fabric. (Only use as much as you need in order to smooth fabric out. Don’t soak the clothes)Shaving cream. I have found conditioner works just as well if not better than expensive shaving creams and leaves my skin just as smooth.
Paintbrush Cleaner. When little painters destroy those cheap paint brushes that come in every art kit on the planet, revive them with a little bit of conditioner and a lot of water!
Drain de-clogger. This is one I myself haven’t tried, but for newly noticed clogs, I imagine it might work. Squirt some conditioner down the drain, and use like you would any other store bought drain cleaner.
Ouchlessly pull off bandages! Little ones love Band-Aids, requesting them for every little boo-boo. However, pulling them off is not a good time. Rub some hair conditioner on it and watch the band aid fall off!
Un-shrink clothes. Again, I haven’t tried this one, but if it works, I’ll be one happy momma! Soak shrunken clothes in a vat of warm water and a tablespoon of hair conditioner for 30-45 minutes. Gently reform clothe back to their original shape by pulling.
Rustproof your tools. Just rub conditioner on tools that are rust-able (but not just before you need to use them, we don’t need wrenches flying everywhere as you try to tighten the bolts in your car.)
All this talk about hair conditioner, and I would be remiss if I didn’t leave you with a natural hair conditioner if store-bought isn’t your thing. Simply rub a very small amount of coconut oil or jojoba oil into your hair, allow to sit for a few minutes and rinse very well. I’m not sure how it will work on the above hacks, but it works wonders for my hair!
