The daily grind

I don’t know about you but at the moment, I’m struggling to get up! It’s seems that perhaps I’m finally getting more sleep rather than tossing and turning.

This was literally me 40 mins ago. That dreaded moment when the alarm goes off...

That’s actually how I look and feel every day - well okay, not on weekends - oh the joy of Monday-Friday work! I know you’re jealous.

I guess finally feeling contented helps with my sleep.... but maybe I get too much sleep. I usually try and get to bed around 10pm. My alarm goes off at 5am... I actually get up around 5.30am... so roughly 7-8 hours sleep. That’s about average but I tend to feel better having had 5-6 hours sleep. An extended fiésta in a way.

My routine in the morning is like clockwork. 5am alarm. Get up at 5am. Quick shower, dressed by 5.50am, coffee and out the door on the toll of 6.10am. This gives me a few minutes to leave my building, cross the road and chit chat at the bus stop for a few minutes before the voyage to work. By 6.45am, I’m outside work chitchatting again until I go in at 7am.

You see... it’s as easy as that!

3pm is the finish time and believe me, I already can’t wait. It’ll be time to get my sweat on with Day 3 of Insanity. Yesterday was gruelling if not painful. It’ll get easier as the days/weeks roll by but being so unfit as I am, it’s going to feel as though everything is uphill for now! Funny thing is, I already feel like things are tightening. I wouldn’t be surprised considering how much I had to hold in the core muscles yesterday!

As they say:- everything comes to he who waits.

To round off the post as I arrive in Norwich, here is a picture of my cat who ignored the alarm clock!
