Ahhh... Wine

Paolo Scavino, Barolo 2007

I like wine... and one of my favorites, if not the favorite is a good Barolo.

Barolo is a red wine originating from the Piedmont area of Northern Italy made only from Nebbiolo grapes.

This type of wine is very aromatic, in fact half the pleasure indrinking thi wine is to smell deeply before drinking. In fact you should inhale deeply prior to any sip as it only increases the taste sensation.

Royaly

This is considered to be (especially for my personal tastes), to be the pinnicle of Italian Wine as it is also grown in the finest plots of land.

It is a tempermental variety and does not grow well elsewhere and is likethe Pinot Noir as it takes on the flavors of the land.

Barolo is considered the "King of Wines" and the "Wine of Kings"

Taste

This is a rich wine with hearty tannins and hints of the oak from barreling. As you smell its boque (again highly suggested prior to each taste), you may sense a floral hint. The taste is more acidic with a long pleasant finish on the pallet.

Pairing

The robust taste pairs well with hearty Pasta dishes as well as with meats and game.
