My first DIY Fresh Flower Straw Hat Workshop-鮮花草帽DIY工作坊

Hi Steemit friends, how are you doing today? Today I want to share my first floral straw hat workshop experience with you. It's a very interesting experience and I learned many techniques that can applied in making corsages and flower crowns. Whenever going for a hike, a travel trip or just an afternoon out with your friends, hat seem to be the to-go accessory for most of the ladies. What better than wearing your DIY hat decorated for your coming adventure?

Steemit的朋友大家好, 今天想分享一下很有趣的經驗，我參加了一個鮮花草帽DIY，學了很多小技巧可以應用在婚禮用的胸花，去郊遊用的頭飾。我想女士們不管是外出旅遊，去海灘或是跟朋友食午餐都很大機會會用到帽子來防曬和裝飾。你們有想過自己手動設計一頂獨一無二的帽子嗎？

This workshop is hosted in this gorgeous flower shop located in Sheung Wan. Decorated with different floral decoration gives a artistic feel to this shop. Not only a flower shop, but also a cafe served coffee and cake. When I enter this flower shop, the first thing I smell is an aroma mash-up with different flowers which makes me relax

這次的工作坊由這家位於上環的花店老闆主辦。很喜歡這家充滿藝術氣息的花店，店擺滿不同的小裝飾，進門香氣撲鼻，有花朵和咖啡混合的味道。這家不只是花店，更是一家咖啡廳，店的中央有賣甜品和咖啡喔!

I was ready in a good mood before the workshop begun as our tutor treat all of the participants some good coffee before we start. See how cute these latte art are!

開始之前，老闆人很好，請我們每人喝一杯咖啡，看看這些咖啡拉花好可愛，是吉蒂貓和小熊。我們喝著咖啡開始了今天的工作坊。

They are our tutor today, Mode and Kevin.

這是我們今天的導師，也是這家店的老闆，Mode和Kevin️

Here's the tools that we need today. A pair of wire scissors, a pair of wire cutter, some floral wires in different thickness, tape, some hemp rope, ribbons and some fresh flowers of your choice.

這是我們今天需要的工具。 剪花的剪刀，剪鐵絲的剪刀，花材專用膠帶，不同粗幼的鐵絲，麻繩，絲帶和一些自己選擇的鮮花。

The floral tape is sticky on the both sides after stretching.

拉扯前這些花材專用膠帶是沒有黏性的， 拉扯後兩側才會產生黏性。

Different sizes of floral wire are used. If the flower's stem is thicker, we use a thicker wire to help us to pin through the stem. We have #28 floral wire on the photo below which is the thinnest wire we use today. The smaller the number, the thinner the wire.

今天也會用到不同粗幼的鐵線，如果花莖較厚會用較粗的鐵線來幫助我們穿過花莖，當然盡可能用細一點，因應做出來的作品會更細緻。圖片中是28号鐵線，是今天最幼細的，号碼越細，鐵線越粗喔！

Every flowers and greenery need to be pined through with a floral wire. Then wrap the stem and the wire with floral tap.While wrapping, we have to stretch the tape continuously. Gather the greenery and flowers and arrange the position. Wrap them with a hemp rope or any rope of your choice. Attach the bundle of flowers and greenery by poking both ends through the hat bands or any place you want to put this bundle at. Twist the end of the wire together and clips any excess wire.

每朵花葉都要先用鐵線穿過莖部，再圍著莖部打圈，再用花材專用膠帶包起鐵絲的部分，剪去多餘的鐵絲。每朵花葉重覆上面的步驟，把包好的花草用麻線扎成一束，再用鐵絲捆在你想放的位置。

Guess why we have to pin through every flower and greenery we use? See the photo below, with the support of the wire, we can blend the greenery to the position that we want. Blend it backward, forward, left or right.

大家有好奇為什麼不直接用花材專用膠帶把花草綑綁在一起嗎？看看下面的圖片，大家應該就會明白了，因為有了鐵絲的承托，我們可以移動他們到我們想要的位置。

After two hours of class, it's time for us to choose our flowers.

完成兩小時的講解後，我們去挑選自己喜歡的花草。

Here's my finished Products! Do you like my handmade floral Straw Hat?

I use a orange chrysanthemum as my main flowers and incorporating its analogous colours with orange-yellow, yellow red-orange to create a harmonious feeling It's always good to start with one large flower and built up with multiple small flowers and greenery.

這是我的完成品，大家覺得怎麼樣呢？第一次做還不錯吧，哈哈🙈。我用了一朵橘色的日本菊花為主花，再配親一些同色調的小花和不同質感的綠葉，營造一種和諧的感覺。

Here's the floral straw Hat created by my workshop tutor, Mode.

這頂是我們的導師Mode設計的。

I brought my floral straw hat to the boat party on the next day after this workshop. I got many compliments from my friends.

工作坊隔天我帶著這頂帽子去了朋友舉辦的遊艇派對，得到很多讚賞！
