Stick to the Original goal; Never Settle for Less.
One of the lessons I learnt in the past year is that when we want something we have to keep trying until we get that which we want.
“A journey is not yet over until it is over”
Most times, the reason we do not get what we want or achieve our set goals is because we get tired along the way and then decide to settle for less or even give up completely.
When a goal has been set by you, you have to make the achievement of that goal your number one option and no matter how difficult achieving the goal might seem, NEVER decrease the goal, but rather, increase your efforts.
“Never settle for anything less than you want”- PJ Harvey
Setting a goal in the midst of so many lesser options makes it thrice as hard to achieve that goal. That is why we ought to do everything that we can to achieve a set goal in order to avoid falling back to something less than what you originally aimed for.
Do not forget that not everyone ends up as ‘great’ because some people settled along the way with just being ‘okay’.
People who make it big keep their heads up and focus on a particular goal without seeing any other options and at the same time they create so many routes and plans (plans A to Z) that would lead them to their set goal.
Settling is the art of taking the easy way out; and in order to be very successful, settling should be the last option or no option at all. In fact, you are no dust, leave the settling for dust.
Never settle for less. Never lower your standard. Do not surrender or compromise your potential for any reason, never settle for mediocrity. And if your goals are set based on realities and not fantasies then believe me, they can all be achieved.
“Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you CHOSE your life, you didn’t SETTLE for it.” –Mandy Hale.
Make sure that in the end, the life path you chose would be your choice and not just a choice stemmed out of settlement.
