Good Vibes
My Instagram caption:
"When you love someone, set aside a cemetery in your heart for all the times you need to bury their mistakes." - Arabic proverb
This applies to friendships, parents, children, and other love stuff. I never truly let other people know the war my heart and my mind have waged against each other for them, but it's fine. We'll get there, sooner or later, when the time is just right. But forgive, love, and enjoy. So many people are so distracted by gaining validation from stuff or chasing stuff that doesn't really matter, and I hope I'm making some sense. When you forgive, try to remember that love is an open door. And that's the thing about love. It doesn't have to be fancy. You love because you do, and somehow, love wins. When everything is said and done, and when everybody else has already been wiped off the face of the earth, you don't want to deal with the regret of not trying again and again.
It's not hearing, "Oh, I'm so sorry I hurt your feelings." It's the apologies that aren't said because of the very busy lives we have or the apologies that are actually said in other ways. Grand gestures are not important. Just love.
Have you read John Green? Forgiveness is the only way out of this labyrinth of suffering. Keep on loving and forgiving.
Love doesn't have to make sense, at least not all of the time. But it's the only thing that makes sense in this life.
