How to be more curious.

Ask yourself the following question: where does the natural learning process for the brain start? Give yourself a few minutes to think about the question and then come back to finish reading this paragraph. The answer to the question is curiosity, where curiosity comes in the form of questions. For your brain to create effective memories of new information and learn it efficiently, you have to be curious about the information. A great example of this fact is Leonardo da Vinci who is coincidentally the most curious person who ever lived. Curiosity drives you to keep learning and expanding your knowledge and value you may provide the world.

Some people are wired to be more curious than others when they are adults. However, almost all children are naturally curious during their younger years, but unfortunately for many of these children that curiosity disappears by the time they reach adulthood. This fact is unfortunate because curiosity is vital for the learning process which allows you to constantly grow as a person. I was certainly in this same category for many years before today, but like me, you also have the ability to rewire your brain and make you more curious about yourself and the world around you.

Training your curiosity is simple, all you need to do is start asking more questions about the world around you. In this podcast episode, I give you a chance to practice this concept with a set of fifty questions. All you need to do is listen to the question while repeating them in your mind. Then in between each question I have given you some time to briefly think about and consider each question that's asked. I truly believe this exercise can be a valuable tool for making you more curious, and also put you into a curiosity-inducing mental state. Just remember that to see larger changes in your curiosity over time, you need to make a new habit of asking many more questions about the world every single day.
