Staring into nothing
Often I find myself staring into nothing. This happens most of the time when I am outside. I look at the waves of the sea (I live quite close to the ocean), or I look at whoever is walking down the street. I can do this quite long actually without being bothered by anything or anyone.
A lot of times I feel not too many people are doing this anymore. Because they are distracted by the people around them, or even more common: By their phone. Im not going to lie to you guys, I have my fare share of being occupied by my phone. But when I am outside this totally disappears. Also when I am in public transportation I can totally be absorbed by what is happening around me. I remember when I was taking the bus often or riding on the train that hardly any people around me were looking outside.
But there is so much to see outside! Especially when you are in a train. Driving through fields with cows, sunsets, people acting stupid on the road. I love it. Public transportation gets even more hilarious when people around you are annoyed and complaining. It makes me smile. Sometimes they dont seem to see the beauty of what is around them. Everywhere around them.
Even more funny is when I walk in town here on a busy tourist day. My parents also noticed this last time when they were visiting us. They said that people on vacation are complaining so much! And nobody is talking and smiling. We laughed about it really hard, because what can possibly be there that you can not smile while visiting a beautiful Caribbean island. After that they said this, I started noticing it even more. I like to stare at people and just smile.
Sometimes people will ask me what I am thinking while I am saying nothing and just staring in the distance. Asking me if I am contemplating about life. And if I look back on what I was thinking, the majority of the times I was thinking about absolutely nothing! I just love to stare...
I can relate...sometimes! It comes on phases for me, but I’m trying not to be too absorbed by steemit and enjoy what’s around me more ....I find balance in those moments.
Same here! I put a lot of time into Steemit so ar those times Im more absorved by my phone of computer. But especially on the road I take in everything I see!
I find myself doing the same thing. Staring off into space, not really looking at anything specific. Most times I am thinking about stuff that I need to do (or already have done). It is funny to “people watch”, for sure. 😊
Yeah maybe people watching is even different than staring into nothing. Maybe people staring can be considered a guilty pleasure even hahaha

Happens to me at times when I am doing a mundane task.
Lost in nothing.
I just recently tried a meditation exercise through youtube for the first time. But then you are actively sitting down to relax. In that Im not really good then. But just letting my mind drift away thats easy :)
I would love to actually meditate and timeout for 2 hours
I've been doing that a lot lately @karinxxl, it's funny that you wrote a post about this.
Today everyone is caught up in their own world usually on their mobile phone and I'm a victim of this.
Now that I'm taking the train and the bus more regularly I've been taking the time to look around me. And I've noticed so many beautiful things, flowers, mountains, and the smiles of an older person looking across from me at the nearby seat.
I guess the older people miss having conversations with the people they meet. That's why I take the time to say hello to them or just share a smile
Yeah good for you! Im doing the exact similar thing, just being more aware of my surroundings.
Yes I guess that is what older people are not following anymore for sure. Enjoying company, a small chitchat, the gap in normal behavior just on the street towards each other. Being nice is not rocket science, its common sense and courtesy

Lol yeah I tend to do that too.. Sometimes like you do, without thinking of anything. Especially in public transport when I am alone..
Yeah exactly those moments are the ones I do it too hehehe
