The beast from the east is here bringing chaos to the UK.
Here in the UK we are in for a week of really bad weather, so the MET office says. We are in for a cold snowy week. -5c with up to 10cm of snow is coming from Siberia, they have called it THE BEAST FROM THE EAST
This means trains, metros and buses cancelled, schools closed, people can't get into work and the road gritters will be complaining they can't cope. There will be panic buying, queues at the supermarket for bread and water. The UK will come to a stop.
There is Amber warnings in places over the UK. This means the weather could cause major disruption to your day so be prepared.
I advise everyone here to stay in bed pull the quilt over your head and hibernate as spring has been put back a week.
Thank you son-of-satire
The beast has a great coverage, the temperature here has dropped from close to 30C to close to, and under 20C in sympathy.
Please get rid of your beast so we can warm up the rest of our Autumn
{PS our sh**y weather comes from Australia, any wonder why we are anti- Aussies?}
We always have sh*tty weather, my poor plants are dreading going outside. We are def going to have a thick layer of snow by the morning.
Layout that spare electric blanket on the floor of the spare room put the pots on big plates that will catch any leakage, turn the blanket to low, then you won't hear the plant's teeth chattering all night keeping you awake.
Ah yes, we have been having some of that stuff around here, as well. And I remember the chaos well from my years of living in the UK (near Bournemouth) where snow was a rarity.
It doesn't snow much here at sea level in Washington state, but the primary motorway pass across the nearby mountain range has had 355" (about 900cm!) of snow so far this year.
Seems other country's can still function with bad weather but here in the UK it shuts us down.
I hope the Beast will be come much weaker in a day or two! I have got friends sightseeing in London, they will have a shock of their life!
Stay warm and safe!
Cheers.
Thank you. I hope your friends will be OK, the UK is hopeless when it comes to bad weather.
Sounds like the UK is in for a hiding.
I suspect we will be in for the same treatment this winter. Our beast will come from the south however - the South Pole.
At least you haven't put all your plants outside yet, and you have two nice warm dogs to cuddle up to ;-)
My plants aren't going anywhere until I know there will be no more snow. Horrible stuff is getting thicker, looks like hubby will be off work again. . Sighhhh
Be careful you guys.
We will :)
Climate change is a bear! It is affecting the weather all over the world. We are windy, cold for here and very dry. The plants and trees are looking rather poorly.
Its scary how much the world and its weather are changing.
